Normal English vs Business English: Thanks and Agreement
Saying thank you and agreeing with others are simple actions, but in a professional setting, the right words make you sound more polished. In this video, you will learn five business English upgrades. Instead of 'thanks', say 'much appreciated'. It is short, warm and perfect for emails and messages. Instead of 'no problem', try 'my pleasure', which sounds more professional and shows you were happy to help. Replace 'good idea' with 'that's a valuable suggestion', which gives clear recognition to a colleague's contribution. Instead of 'I agree', say 'I completely align with that'. The verb 'align' is very common in business English and means to agree or have the same goals. Finally, swap 'okay' for 'that sounds reasonable', which shows agreement while sounding thoughtful. These phrases help you build positive relationships with colleagues, managers and clients. Recognizing other people's ideas and showing appreciation are key soft skills in any workplace. Watch the video, repeat each pair, and try using at least two of these phrases in your next meeting or email. You will notice how much more professional and confident your English sounds.
