Everyone, Someone, Anyone and No One Explained
Everyone, someone, anyone and no one are indefinite pronouns, words that talk about people without saying exactly who they are. They are used in almost every English conversation, so it is important to pronounce them clearly and understand their meaning. In this short video, you will hear each word slowly with a pause, so you can listen and repeat. Everyone means all the people in a group. For example, Everyone is here, let's start. Someone means one person, but we do not know or do not say who. For example, Someone left their phone on the table. Anyone is usually used in questions and negative sentences. For example, Is anyone hungry? or I didn't see anyone. No one means not a single person. For example, No one answered the phone. Notice that no one is written as two words, while everyone, someone and anyone are written as one. Also, remember that these pronouns take a singular verb, so we say Everyone is happy, not Everyone are happy. Watch the video, repeat each word during the pause and try making your own example sentences. With practice, you will use these pronouns naturally and correctly in every conversation.
