Advice Is an Uncountable Noun

Many learners say “an advice” by mistake. This short video explains why it’s wrong and how to say it naturally.

“Advice” is one of the most common uncountable nouns in English—and one of the most commonly used incorrectly.

In this video, Mia says, “I need an advice,” and Luke helps her correct it. In English, we don’t say “an advice” because “advice” is uncountable. That means you can’t use a or an with it.

✅ Say: “some advice” when speaking generally.
✅ Say: “a piece of advice” if you mean one specific tip.

Examples:
🟢 I need some advice.
🟢 That was a great piece of advice.

These small grammar rules help your English sound more natural and fluent. You’ll also hear Luke’s top advice for learning English faster: use the FluentJoy app daily and surround yourself with English—through music, podcasts, or movies.
