Basic vs Advanced English: Giving Opinions
Giving your opinion is one of the most important skills in English, whether you are chatting with friends, taking an exam or speaking in a meeting. In this video, you will learn five simple upgrades. Instead of 'I think', say 'I believe', which sounds more confident and thoughtful. Instead of 'I like', try 'I'm into', a natural, informal phrase native speakers use for hobbies and interests, like 'I'm into photography'. Replace 'I don't like' with 'I'm not a fan of', which is softer and more polite. Instead of 'I don't know', say 'I'm not sure', which sounds less abrupt and more open. Finally, upgrade 'I agree' to 'I totally agree' to show stronger, more enthusiastic agreement. These small changes make a big difference in how fluent you sound. They also help you avoid repeating the same basic phrases again and again. Notice that some advanced phrases are more formal, like 'I believe', while others are casual, like 'I'm into'. Choose the right one for the situation. Watch the video, repeat each pair, and practice by giving your opinion about food, films or music using the advanced versions.
