Fast English: How Natives Really Say Everyday Phrases
Have you ever studied a phrase but could not recognize it when a native speaker said it? That is because, in real conversations, people connect words, drop sounds and speak quickly. In this video, you will hear six everyday phrases, first slowly and then in fast, natural English. 'I'm on my way' becomes something like 'amomaway'. 'I gotta go' sounds like 'igadago', where the t sounds soften into a quick d sound. 'I will be right back' becomes 'ibbrybak'. 'I am getting ready' sounds like 'amgenready'. 'I need to sleep' turns into 'nittasleep', and 'I am coming home' sounds like 'amcominome'. These are not new words, they are simply how the phrases sound when spoken quickly. Understanding this connected speech is one of the biggest steps toward following films, series and real conversations. You do not have to speak this fast yourself, but training your ear will make listening much easier. Watch the video, listen carefully to the difference between the slow and fast versions, and repeat both. Then try shadowing the fast version until it feels natural. With regular practice, fast English will stop sounding like a mystery.
