Common Grammar Mistakes
Certain grammar mistakes are extremely common among English learners, even at intermediate and advanced levels, because they often follow patterns from other languages. This lesson corrects seven of them. We don't say listen me, we say listen to me, and instead of thanks God, the correct phrase is thank God. Agreement questions are often mistranslated: instead of are you agree, the correct form is do you agree, and instead of I am agree, simply say I agree. Similarly, we say call me, not call to me, and I am bored, not I am boring, since boring describes something else being dull. Other common fixes include we discussed it instead of we discussed about it, and I went home instead of I went to home. These mistakes are easy to fix once you recognize the pattern, and correcting them will make your English sound noticeably more accurate and natural.
